It was a hot one, so we headed to the shade of the woods before going to the beautiful rape seed fields~

I loved this shoot, it was so much fun and the girls were just brilliant ~ and did so well in the 29 degree heat!!

Miss Point&Click, Cut&Stick ~

You may have noticed that I have a brand new banner, a bit of Bobbins branding ~

I thought I would share with you how I did it..

A few months ago my lovely friend Kate came up with the name Miss Point&Click Cut&Stick, which pretty much encapsulates what I do, I loved it and have been mulling over some branding ideas in my head for a while now.

I finally got some time on saturday and got going on it….

I started by drawing out my image onto card…

cutting it out….

…bit of doodling and fiddling….

..and then I photographed it and put it into photoshop and did some colouring!!

… low and behold … my new logo was born!

Impromptu Road Trip~*

I wanted to share a little personal blog post with you today~

Ive had one of those weekends that will stay in my memory, put in the special Glass Box in my mind of special days…

{Friday 16th March}

I found myself home alone on Friday night, no kids, free as a bird … and it left me feeling a bit fed up… ( I can hear shouts from you lot saying, ‘what?! I would love to have a whole night to myself’) .. I had bath, read my book, and by 6.45 I was laying on my bed, with 17 Again about to start on Film 4 …. feeling a bit pathetic …. is this whats its come to? Friday night free and this is the best you can do?!

Those of you who know me, will know that my lovely man Reggie is away on tour at the moment, Bass Tech for The Osmonds! He’d been away for a week and a half by friday night, travelling all round the country, and has another 8 weeks to go …

I had a look at his schedule, he was in Croydon, and then onto Royal Tunbridge Wells … I got my maps out on the iPhone, checked times/distances etc.. and thought ‘sod it…Im going to go and surprise my man’ …

So off I drove to Croydon, feeling really excited about doing something spontaneous …..

I got to Fairfeild Halls in Croydon and found the merchandise bloke who was enjoying some peace while the gig was on, and not being swamped by Osmonds Fans (Strange bunch!!!) I introduced myself, he snuck me into the hall after the gig was over, enjoying the excitement of the surprise almost as much as I was .. hid me behind a speaker, and called Reg over….

So I got to meet all the guys he’s been working with, see the tour bus.. very posh, bunks reminded me of the train in ‘Some Like it Hot’ …. No Crackers in bed! (Thats for you Hannah C!) …

Its a bloody hard job those guys do, and to then have to sleep on a bus in a bunk you can’t sit up in for 7 days a week with 10 other blokes ( can you imagine the snoring!!!) … well, needless to say when I told Reg we had a hotel for the night he nearly melted!

{Saturday 17th March}

We were now in Royal Tunbridge Wells… while they were setting up for the show I did what I like to do most and went wandering …. so here are some photos from my mooching ~

I went to the Pantiles, a gorgeous area of Tunbridge Wells with loads of independent shops ….

I found a lovely garden and home shop ( stupidly didn’t get the name and have lost the receipt so I am sorry I can’t give them a link )

The lady in there was lovely and we had a great chat … I bought these gorgeous cards~ which I am giving away to no-one… framed and on the wall for these lovelies~*

I absolutely love them and have the perfect frame rescued from the tip, that has just been waiting for these to fill it!

{Going to buy some mounting board this afternoon to get these bad boys framed!}

….and so to my best find of the day ~

I love charity shops .. love ‘em and to find this little beauty tucked in the British Heart Foundation for £4.75 ( yes …. 4 English pounds and 75 English pence!! ..) well you can imagine my utter delight ~ THIS is the sort of shopping I LOVE!! ~*

{and it works~ amaze balls~* !!)

So it was time to head home, but not before stocking up on cuddles….

I loved my Impromptu Weekend, loved seeing my man, loved the surprise and love in his face when he saw me, loved visiting somewhere new and finding lovely things and places to inspire me~

Life is for living ~ not moping watching 17 Again on your own ~* !!

It’s mothers day today so a big Shout out to Mama Bobbins, who inspires me all the time with her love, patience, kindness and general beauty in and out ~ I love you Mum ~*

Happy Mothers day to all mums everywhere, lost and found, near and far … always in our hearts~

Lovely big family photo shoot for mothers day~*

Another lovely weekend of spring sunshine ~ and a lovely big family shoot for mothers day!

We all met up in the glorious warm spring sunshine for this shoot as a gift for mothers day.

We had a great laugh, mostly getting the two boys ( brother in laws ), who seem to be having some sort of Bromance, to pose as a loving couple!!

And after we finished the shoot we all headed to the pub for a nice sunday afternoon feed up … there seems to be a theme showing itself here …. trips to the pub after shoots … not that Im complaining !

{Lou & Matt} Winter sunshine shoot at Hampton Court ~*

Well days like this one are why I love my job so much ……

Lou contacted me through a friend, Hannah, last year, and we have been chatting on email for a few months. We finally managed to get together on one of the most glorious days of the year so far.

We arranged to meet up at Hampton Court ( in the pub ) as they were both really nervous, a nerve-strengthening pint in the sunshine always helps!

We had a great shoot, Matt and Lou really relaxed and were all smiles and loveliness!!

We finished up and went back to the pub, where us girls sat and chatted wedding and details, while all around us the boys were watching the rugby .. England v Wales…. what a smashing job I have!!

I can’t wait for their wedding in the summer … its sounds wonderful and I look forward to sharing it with you later in the year…..

My Family Photoshoot {descending into chaos and fighting in vests!}

So…. its christmas coming up, or had you not noticed under the torrent of sentimental adverts? So whats a good christmas present? …. a lovely photo of you and your family… thats what I have been doing these last few weeks, with wedding season behind me, I have been revelling in the gorgeous Autumn light and taking lovely family photos for people to give to their loved ones as treasured gifts…..and some lovely ones I have taken too!

As a photographer you would think I would have loads of lovely photos of us all, but when it comes to me and my family trying to get a shot of us all together is nigh on impossible.

And this is what happens when we try!! .. this isn’t set up for the blog .. this is genuinely what happened on sunday when trying to get one pic of the six of us all to send to relatives…!!

Let me explain… I am a single mum of two little lovelies (not so little anymore nearly 8 and 9, but they’re still little to me), I have a long term and gorgeous fella, together for over 6 years, but not living together…struggling artist and musician couple makes for no money but a happy heart. He has two beautiful daughters, one is 20 and away at uni, the other is 17, I love them both dearly. We have a wonderful mash up of people and we all have a blast when we’re all together … we are very lucky indeed … but to get us all in one place… not easy…..

I had a beautiful location in mind, we had the perfect winter sunshine in place and most of the gang together … I was also taking some photos of some friends too as a thank you for all their help over the year… invaluable you are to me and I loves ya!

As a photographer I always have a strong idea of what I want and always find it hard relinquishing responsibility to someone else… I also HATE having my picture taken … the perfect subject!! Also my son, Kalo, who I had tried to bribe with five whole english pounds to wear some jeans and not his joggers ( didnt work … A fiver!! I would have jumped at the chance at 9 … I reaslise what some of you must be thinking… bribing a 9 year with a fiver … thats a lot of money ….true … but he is VERY attached to the joggers and has a massive aversion to anything else … I had to bring out the big guns!! not big enough apparently) … well he was set to sabotage the whole thing from the off ….. the day ended with the boys all in their wife beaters, soaking wet from rolling down a soggy hill, fake fighting and being quite hilarious …..
